I'm only into the retro and Remembering Some Guys aspects of sports these days. Most modern sports are more like wrestling where talent‑hoarding, TV exec‑fave big market teams are OP babyfaces, now with gambling propaganda with endless betting app ads and industry plant Vegas teams being formed suspiciously just after that plague was starting.
I try to support smaller leagues/sports where I can. The 1st NLL lacrosse game I went to was hype, there's an indie ball team in my town, and I would like my CFL team to try to win again.
I actually hold no ill will to the Washington Nationals at this point in time. It's not like they instantly became very good immediately after the move like with the Avalanche (don't even get me started with the NHL's southern favouritism) or OKC Thunder (the Sonics were legit stolen).
As for Montréal potentially getting a team again, see answer to previous question. Tl;dr: Not in this sport's state.
